Job summary

LGT Wealth Management in Australia is seeking a Team Leader, Client Onboarding to establish and lead a new onboarding function within Front Office Advisory. This fixed-term contract role offers the chance to shape operating practices and build a scalable onboarding model that supports our growth.

You will oversee KYC, AML/CTF, due diligence and onboarding decisions, coaching a team of Associates and partnering with Advisers, Operations and Financial Crime teams to deliver compliant onboarding

• Experience in client onboarding and onboarding governance in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of KYC, AML/CTF and due diligence requirements.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and leading the Client Onboarding function, including team development, operational processes and service standards.
• Building, coaching and supporting a team of Client Onboarding Associates to deliver onboarding outcomes.
• Overseeing KYC, AML/CTF, customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence requirements across onboarding activities.
• Partnering with Advisers, Associates, Operations and Financial Crime teams to ensure timely, risk-based onboarding decisions.
• Driving continuous improvement, championing technology and AI-enabled solutions in onboarding.
• Embedding a culture of accountability, quality, collaboration and first-line risk management.

An exciting opportunity has been created for a Team Leader, Client Onboarding to establish and lead a new onboarding function within Front Office Advisory. This is a unique chance to build a team, shape operating practices and create a scalable onboarding model that will support the future growth of our business. This role reports to the National Associate Manager and is offered as a fixed-term contract.

What you'll do

As the leader of the Client Onboarding function, you will play a critical role in delivering consistent, high-quality onboarding outcomes while ensuring strong governance and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Establishing and leading the Client Onboarding function, including team development, operational processes and service standards.
• Building, coaching and supporting a team of Client Onboarding Associates to deliver exceptional onboarding outcomes.
• Overseeing KYC, AML/CTF, customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence requirements across all onboarding activities.
• Partnering with Advisers, Associates, Operations and Financial Crime teams to ensure timely, risk-based onboarding decisions.

What you'll bring

• Experience in client onboarding, operations or client services within financial services, wealth management, private banking or another regulated environment.
• Strong working knowledge of KYC, AML/CTF and customer due diligence requirements.
• Experience reviewing onboarding documentation and applying a practical, risk-based approach to client onboarding.
• Understanding of onboarding risk indicators, including beneficial ownership, source of wealth and funds, sanctions, PEPs and adverse media.
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop and motivate a team.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills.

Nice to have

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Experience leading process improvement initiatives, automation projects or AI-enabled solutions.
