Job summary

ASX, Australia’s leading securities exchange, invites applications for an Officer, Clearing Operations on a 12 Month Max Term Contract in Sydney. You will support clearing, settlement, margin management, and collateral activities essential to ASX’s market infrastructure.

The role requires 1–2 years in clearing/settlement or related operations, with knowledge of margining and derivatives lifecycles. Hybrid working options are available, with background checks as part of onboarding.

Qualifications

1–2 years experience in clearing/settlement/treasury ops or financial markets ops.
Strong understanding of margining and cash settlement for cleared products.
Analytical approach to issue investigation and solutioning.
Knowledge of derivatives lifecycles from trade capture to expiry/settlement.
Ability to streamline processes to reduce operational risk.

Responsibilities

Understand and operate ASX clearing/settlement systems including Calypso, Genium, DCS/MCM, Austraclear, Markitwire and internal apps.
Process full product cycle for exchange traded and OTC derivatives - listing, expiries, settlements.
Complete clearing operational tasks following procedures and checklists.
Support treasury team in settling deals and engaging with investment counterparties.
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce risk and improve customer experience.
Review corporate actions adjustments on ETO products.
Engage with stakeholders including clearing participants, counterparties, and regulators.
Manage stakeholder queries in line with ASX Customer Communication Principles.
