Job summary

White Prince Mushrooms in Australia is seeking an experienced Cleaning Team Leader to head the afternoon/evening Hygiene team. You will supervise a dedicated crew, actively participate in cleaning operations, and ensure our factory remains thoroughly cleaned, sanitised and ready for the next day's production.

This hands-on leadership role operates on a rotating seven-day roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Leadership/supervisory experience in food manufacturing
• Experience cleaning High Care or high-risk food production areas
• Knowledge of food safety, GMP, HACCP and hygiene requirements
• Experience with cleaning chemicals, dilution rates and safe chemical handling
• Ability to train, motivate and support a team
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Reliable attendance and ability to work a rotating seven‑day roster

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the afternoon/evening cleaning team
• Coordinate daily cleaning activities across production and High Care areas
• Prepare and manage cleaning rosters to ensure adequate shift coverage
• Train, mentor and support team members, including developing the Second in Charge (2IC)
• Ensure cleaning is completed to the highest food safety standards
• Complete and verify cleaning records and compliance documentation
• Oversee the safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals
• Liaise with Production Supervisors during shift handovers
• Support environmental monitoring programs, hygiene inspections and food safety audits
• Promote a strong culture of food safety, teamwork and workplace safety

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys developing people while maintaining high operational standards.

You’ll bring:

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience within food manufacturing, food processing or a similar hygiene‑controlled environment
• Demonstrated experience cleaning High Care or high‑risk food production areas
• Sound understanding of food safety, GMP, HACCP and hygiene requirements
• Experience with cleaning chemicals, dilution rates and safe chemical handling
• The ability to train, motivate and support a team
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Reliable attendance and availability to work a rotating seven‑day roster, including weekends and public holidays

Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded:

• Food Safety or HACCP qualifications
• Chemical handling certification
• Experience within fresh produce or chilled food manufacturing
• Forklift or Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence
• Current First Aid Certificate
