Job summary

Gilmour Space Technologies is seeking a Cleaning Laboratory Technician to join our Bowen-based manufacturing team. You will perform cleaning of aerospace components, verify cleanliness, maintain equipment, and support quality processes in a fast-paced lab environment.

Applicants should have a Laboratory Techniques qualification, experience in lab or manufacturing settings, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Certificate III, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Laboratory Techniques, Chemistry, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, chemical, or laboratory environment.
• Demonstrated experience in laboratory testing and analysis.
• Strong understanding of quality systems and documentation requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning of aerospace components and assemblies in accordance with approved procedures and/or customer requirements.
• Verify cleanliness requirements through testing, inspection, and process monitoring.
• Maintain cleaning equipment, laboratory instruments, and process chemicals to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Investigate cleanliness-related non-conformances and support corrective actions and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop and document activities.
• Communicate with all managers and team members to ensure positive working relationships and adherence to daily operations.

• Ability to off-hours work, as necessary, during certain build phases
• Other duties as required by Management

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Certificate III, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Laboratory Techniques, Chemistry, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, chemical, or laboratory environment
• Demonstrated experience in laboratory testing and analysis
• Strong understanding of quality systems and documentation requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Experience with cleaning chemistry or surface treatment processes
• Experience with laboratory calibration and equipment maintenance
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Sound organisational and time management skills
• Commitment to safety and quality standards, knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems
• Understanding of continuous improvement principles
• Ability to rapidly adapt to changes in direction while working in a fast-paced, challenging work environment.
