Job summary

Catholic Healthcare is seeking casual cleaners to support our aged care homes in NSW. You will help maintain high standards of cleanliness in residents’ rooms and common areas, working as part of a supportive team to ensure a welcoming, safe environment for residents and staff.

The role requires reliability, good communication, and empathy, with opportunities for flexible shifts and to contribute to a not-for-profit mission that focuses on dignity and quality of life for older people.

Qualifications

• Caring for the elderly and promoting dignity and well-being.
• Excellent communication and positive attitude required.
• Previous cleaning experience preferred.
• Empathetic approach when interacting with residents and families.
• Maintain professional relationships with residents and colleagues.
• Be a reliable team member and able to follow policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high standard of cleanliness and presentation in residents' rooms.
• Support peers and maintain a cooperative team environment.
• Work safely by following all policies and procedures.

• Casual positions available
• Pay rate – $33.20 per hour + superannuation

As a member of the Cleaning team, you will be providing high quality cleaning services for our residents within our residential aged care home, ensuring residents rooms and common areas are clean and presentable.

About the Role:

• Work as part of a team to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and presentation in our residents rooms
• Supporting your peers and maintaining a co operative team spirit
• Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents, closely following all policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you’ll need

• A kind heart and genuine passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Previous experience working as a cleaner ideally
• Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with experience interacting with a wide range of people
• Ability to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
• A reliable team player
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
• Willingness to apply for a Police Check and NDIS clearance
