Job summary

Uniting AgeWell Aldersgate Village is seeking a part-time Cleaner to join our team. This role supports elderly residents by maintaining a clean, hygienic environment and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.

The position runs 54 hours per fortnight, with shifts 8:00 am to 2:30 pm across alternating weeks. Applicants should be kind, respectful, and able to work effectively in a team, while following OH&S and infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• A current Working With Vulnerable People card is essential.
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations.
• Australian working rights.
• Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Keep all areas of the residence hygienic and presentable.
• Contribute to a comfortable, welcoming environment for residents and staff.
• Clean in line with chemical and infection control requirements and accreditation standards.

About the role:

Experienced and motivated Cleaners are encouraged to join our team at Uniting AgeWell Aldersgate Village.

This is a Part Timerole working 54 hours per fortnight working 8am - 230pm

Week 1 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Week 2 Monday - Friday

• Ensure that all areas of the residence are kept hygienic and presentable
• Contribute to a comfortable, welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors
• Cleaning in line with all chemical and infection control requirements and accreditation standards
• Ensuring resident privacy and dignity is always maintained
• Identify and report maintenance issues for our residents, ensuring they are escalated in a timely manner

About you:

You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, you also:

• Demonstrate a high level of kindness and respect for residents’ property and privacy
• Have previous experience cleaning in a large organisation or commercial environment (preferred but not essential)
• Have sound knowledge of OH&S procedures, relevant chemicals and safe work practices (preferred but not essential)
• An understanding of infection control procedures
• Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision as required and as part of a team
• Thribe in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
• Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BESTway of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)
