Job summary

Yarrawonga Health is seeking a dedicated Cleaner/Patient Transport Assistant to join our Environmental Services team in Victoria. This role supports infection control and patient care by keeping facilities clean and safe.

Casual and part-time positions are available; you’ll work across our Acute Unit, Community Services, and aged care areas, with weekly, afternoon and weekend shifts. Police checks and vaccination requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar cleaning or environmental services role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to work with a wide variety of people.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control across Yarrawonga Health.
• Clean patient and resident rooms, offices, hallways and other areas.
• Undertake terminal cleaning and prepare rooms for new patients and residents.
• Follow appropriate isolation and infection control procedures.
• Safely operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums and polishers.
• Assist with patient/resident-focused services and transport duties as required.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report maintenance or equipment issues.
• Work as part of a supportive team while also being confident working independently.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients, residents, visitors and staff.
• Contribute to a safe, clean and welcoming environment for everyone who enters our organisation.

About The Role

You Will Ideally Have

• Experience in a similar cleaning or environmental services role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to work with a wide variety of people.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.
• An understanding of confidentiality.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A commitment to Yarrawonga Health’s values and a patient/resident-focused approach.

You will need to be available to work a range of shifts, including weekly, afternoon and weekend shifts, public holidays and, where required, on-call arrangements.
