Job summary

St Michael's Catholic Parish Primary School in Mittagong is seeking a part-time Classroom Teacher (0.20 FTE) to commence 28 January 2027 and finish 26 January 2028. The role covers Kindergarten to Year 6, contributing to faith formation and high-quality learning.

The successful applicant will hold appropriate Primary K–6 qualifications and NSW accreditation (NESA) with Level D in Religious Education or committed to attaining it within five years. WWCC required.

Kindergarten to Year 6 serving the Mittagong Parish with an enrolment of approximately 180 pupils.

Location: St Michael's Catholic Parish Primary School, Mittagong

A temporary part time position commencing 28 January 2027 until 26 January 2028.

The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

• Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
• Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning across all Key Learning Areas.
• Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
• Implement effective teaching strategies in Literacy and Numeracy.
• Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
• Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate qualifications for teaching Primary K–6.
• Accredited Level D to teach Religious Education in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
• The applicant must be accredited with NESA to teach in NSW.

This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
