Job summary

St Benedict’s Primary School in Canberra invites applications for a Classroom Teacher. The role plans and delivers engaging, differentiated lessons, fosters a safe, inclusive environment, and uses assessment to guide learning.

This permanent position offers a salary between $82,796 and $136,848 plus superannuation, with a January 2027 start. The school provides Catalyst professional learning, parental leave, and opportunities to develop across the Archdiocese.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education or Master in Teaching.
• ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance.
• ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration.
• Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons using approved teaching practices and curriculum-aligned resources.
• Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Track student progress through ongoing assessment and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with families and colleagues to build strong, supportive partnerships.

About The Role

The Classroom Teacher plans and delivers engaging, purposeful, and differentiated lessons using approved teaching practices and high-quality, curriculum-aligned resources. They foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes both academic success and student wellbeing. Through continuous assessment and timely, constructive feedback, they track student progress and adapt their teaching to meet diverse learning needs. The teacher maintains accurate records of student development and collaborates with colleagues and families to build strong, supportive partnerships.
