TAL, one of Australia’s leading life insurers, is hiring a Claims Governance & Risk Specialist to strengthen risk and governance in our claims function. You’ll enable informed, compliant decision-making across channels and portfolios, reinforcing trust with customers, partners and regulators.

In this role you will provide risk insights, identify trends, drive continuous improvement with stakeholders, enhance complaint outcomes, and lead regulatory responses.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in risk, compliance or technical claims within a regulated environment
• Strong understanding of life insurance frameworks, claims handling and regulatory requirements
• Ability to analyse problems and deliver practical solutions that improve processes and outcomes
• Confident communicator who can translate technical concepts into clear, meaningful insights
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build strong relationships across all levels
• Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Provide risk and governance insights that enable compliant, commercially sound claims decisions
• Identify and address risk trends, delivering recommendations that strengthen claims practices
• Drive continuous improvement by partnering with stakeholders to uplift processes, controls and training
• Enhance complaints outcomes by analysing trends and improving resolution approaches and capability
• Lead regulatory and audit responses, ensuring high-quality outputs and timely issue remediation
• Support risk culture by helping teams identify, manage and monitor risk and compliance effectively
