Job summary

Gallagher is seeking a Claims Account Officer in Melbourne to support the Workers’ Compensation team with data entry, payments, and customer enquiries. You will help ensure timely, accurate processing of claims and maintain essential records in a confidential environment.

You will manage databases, filing, and new claim registrations while communicating clearly with clients, vendors, and colleagues to uphold Gallagher’s service standards.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of office experience.
• Strong data entry, numerical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel; familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.

The position We are currently seeking Claims Account Officers to join our office located in Melbourne's CBD. These are full time, contracted positions working in our Worker's Compensation team. Responsibilities of the Claims Account Officer role include but are not limited to:

• Providing data entry/accounts administration support to the Workers compensation Claims Management team through the co-ordination of workflow and other administrative functions
• Processing payments in a timely and accurate manner
• Answering phone enquiries
• Accurately recording data into databases
• Maintaining filing system
• Registering new claims in a timely and accurate manner

About you

Required: High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year transferrable work experience within an office environment. Ability to pass any required licensing exams within three attempts. Excellent written, verbal and mathematic skills. Working knowledge of current PC software such as Word and Excel. Familiar with medical terminology.

Preferred: Licensed for all states in which claims are being handled. One year relevant Worker's Compensation experience.

Able to maintain strict confidence regarding information contained in assigned work. Ability to professionally interact with all levels of branch personnel, as well as, clients, vendors and all other office visitors.
