Job summary

TAL Australia is seeking a Claims Consultant to manage life insurance claims end-to-end in the Group space for the REST fund, delivering a seamless experience for customers and their advisers, trustees and fund administrators.

You will collaborate with medical and legal specialists, engage external doctors and deliver timely outcomes while upholding our commitments to quality service and compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Life insurance claims management experience in Group policies (IP/TPD preferred).
• Workers' Compensation or Return to Work claims with Allied Health background.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and time-management abilities.
• Excellent communication and empathy to support customers during challenging times.
• Solid understanding of injuries, illnesses and their treatments.

Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class customer and client experience, including regular communication on claims status.
• Independently manage a portfolio of IP and TPD claims end-to-end.
• Assess, analyse, calculate and finalise claims payments.
• Engage external treating doctors, rehabilitation consultants and in-house medical/legal specialists to deliver timely outcomes.
• Provide exceptional customer service in line with policy and procedures.
• Participate in case conferences and instruct third-party service providers.

Job Description

As a Claims Consultant within our Group space for our REST fund, you will manage life insurance claims from start to finish, providing a seamless experience for our customers.

In This Role You Will

• A key focus of this role involves providing a best-in-class customer and client (e.g. advisers, trustees, fund administrators) experience, including regular communication in relation to the status of claims and managing expectations, to deliver on quality health and claim outcomes.
• Independently managing a portfolio of TPD and IP claims end-to-end
• Assess, analyse, calculate and finalise claims payments
• Active engagement of external treating doctors, rehabilitation consultants as well as in house medical and legal specialists and delivering timely outcomes for our customer
• Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with our philosophy, policy and claims procedures
• Participate in case conferences, peer case discussions, and instructing third party service providers

Qualifications

• Life insurance claims management experience within Group policy - IP and/or TPD claims experience is ideal OR;
• Workers Compensation or Return to Work claims management experience with an Allied Health background
• Strong analytical, problem-solving & time-management skills
• Excellent communication & empathy to support customers during challenging times.
• Solid understanding of injuries, illnesses and treatment
