Job summary

Water Corporation in Three Springs is hiring a Civil Water Operator to maintain and operate vital water infrastructure across the region. You will work outdoors, operate equipment, and support safe, reliable water services for local communities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in civil construction, utilities, water operations or a related field.
  • Knowledge of water sampling, chlorination and water quality monitoring.
  • Current WA Driver's Licence.
  • Experience operating plant and equipment relevant to civil maintenance activities.
  • Holding relevant certifications is preferred; employer will invest in training.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, maintain and repair water mains and pipelines.
  • Respond to water network faults, leaks and service interruptions.
  • Operate plant, equipment, and tools safely.
  • Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform excavation and civil maintenance works.
  • Assist with emergency response and after-hours calls.
  • Ensure work complies with procedures.

What The Role Will Involve

As a Civil Water Operator, you'll be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of water infrastructure, including:

  • Construction, maintenance and repair of water mains and pipelines
  • Responding to water network faults, leaks and service interruptions
  • Operating plant, equipment and tools safely and effectively
  • Conducting inspections and preventative maintenance activities
  • Performing excavation, reinstatement and civil maintenance works
  • Assisting with emergency response and after-hours call-outs as required
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with operational procedures
About You

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

  • Experience in civil construction, utilities, water operations or a related field
  • Knowledge of water sampling, chlorination and water quality monitoring
  • Current WA Driver's Licence
  • Experience operating plant and equipment relevant to civil maintenance activities
  • Strong commitment to safety and working within established procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
  • Certificate II & III Water Industry Operations qualifications or willingness to obtain them
  • Hold certifications in Confined Space, Chlorine Handling, or Working at Heights? Great! If not, we'll invest in your development and provide the training you need to succeed in the role
