Job summary

Aurecon Group is seeking a Civil / Structural Engineer, Underground Structures (5-7 years’ experience) to join the NSW & ACT Underground Structures team. You will contribute to the design of underground structures, deep shafts and tunnels and collaborate with clients to deliver sustainable outcomes.

Based in NSW/ACT, the role offers career progression within a dynamic team, with opportunities to develop both structural and geotechnical capabilities and work on diverse projects across the region.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5-7 years of experience in underground/civil structures.
• Experience in retaining structures, deep shafts, cut and cover tunnels.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and TfNSW specifications.
• Consultancy experience and transport sector exposure preferred.
• Interest in developing both structural and geotechnical skills.

Civil Engineer, Underground Structures

The NSW & ACT Underground Structures team is a leader in the design of underground structures and soil-structure interaction analysis, including cut and cover tunnels, retaining walls, foundations and other civil structures in the NSW & ACT market. With a growing pipeline of work across a range of different projects and sectors, we are seeking a Civil / Structural Engineer, Underground Structures (5-7 years’ experience) to join our Underground Structures team. The role offers an exciting opportunity for career progression within a dynamic and vibrant team to deliver sustainable outcomes and technical excellence for key clients. With a focus on underground structures design, this role spans both geotechnical and structural engineering -making it an ideal fit whether you already work across both disciplines or bring deep expertise in one area and a strong appetite to learn the other.

What are we looking for from you?

• The preferred candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering with around 5-7 years’ experience and a background in the structural and / or geotechnical design of underground / civil structures.
• Your career to date will have included:
  • Relevant experience in the design and documentation of retaining structures, deep shafts, cut and cover tunnels and/or reinforced soil and rock construction.
  • Working knowledge of Australian Standards, TfNSW specifications and structural and / or geotechnical analysis software
  • Experience in successfully working in a consultancy setting as part of project teams with both internal and external clients. Experience in transport work sectors preferred
  • Interest in further developing existing skills in both structural and geotechnical engineering
  • Be an Australian Citizen and eligible for security clearance (AGSVA requirements apply)
