Job summary

Waverley Council is seeking a Team Leader Multi Skilled Civil in Alexandria to lead a skilled civil crew delivering roads, footpaths and drainage works. The role blends supervision with hands-on field work and requires a practical, safety-conscious approach.

You will oversee resource planning, assign tasks, mentor staff and ensure projects meet quality standards while maintaining a positive, collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership and direction to staff.
• Ability to guide and mentor teams in civil maintenance and construction.
• Competent with common office software and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support a team of multi-skilled civil staff in the delivery of day-to-day civil maintenance and construction works.
• Plan, coordinate and allocate resources, plant, equipment and materials to ensure works are delivered efficiently and safely
• Undertake and oversee civil works including roads, footpaths, kerbs, draining, paving and other public infrastructure
• Monitor work quality, productivity and compliance with Council standards, procedures, WHS and environmental requirements
• Provide hands on technical guidance and support to the team, resolving operational issues as they arise.
• Coordinate works with internal teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure projectsand maintenance activities are delivered on time and to a high standard
