Job summary

JDM Civil Group is seeking a Project Engineer to drive QA, develop ITPs, and manage non-conformances on civil works. The role supports WH&S and environmental compliance and coordinates with clients and subcontractors.

Responsibilities include updating plans, managing material scheduling, and ensuring QA records are complete for project close-out. Strong communication and document control skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of civil construction practices and QA processes.
• Experience with ITPs and quality management systems.
• Knowledge of WH&S and environmental requirements.
• Ability to prepare technical correspondence and submissions.
• Experience with document control and specifications management.
• Ability to verify quantities and support cost reporting.
• Experience reviewing subcontractor QA documentation and test results.
• Strong communication skills for liaison with clients, designers, certifiers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Implement the project quality management plan and ensure QA requirements are understood and applied across the works.
• Develop and issue Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for relevant activities, in line with project specifications and standards.
• Schedule and attend hold point and witness point inspections, and ensure sign-off documentation is completed and filed correctly.
• Maintain accurate and complete QA records to support project close-out and compliance requirements.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where work does not meet specification or approved ITPs.
• Investigate the cause of non-conformances and coordinate proposed rectification with the Supervisor and Project Manager.
• Review SWMS for technical accuracy and compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor works for compliance with WH&S and environmental requirements, and report concerns to the Supervisor and Project Manager.
• Identify scope changes arising from site conditions, design changes or client instructions.
• Monitor and update construction plans, drawings and specifications as revisions are issued.
