Job summary

BMD Group is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Brisbane project team, with initial deployment in Brisbane and eventual transition to a Sunshine Coast site. You will manage construction activities, coordinate subcontractors and drive project milestones while upholding HSEQ standards.

Ideal candidates bring a Civil Engineering degree and demonstrable experience delivering infrastructure projects for a principal contractor, with strong planning, cost control and stakeholder engagement skills.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering infrastructure or civil construction projects.
• Experience working for a principal contractor.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project planning and project controls.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and site-based work crews.
• Sound knowledge of contract administration, cost control and commercial project delivery.
• Ability to identify, manage and mitigate project risks.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• High level of organisation, planning and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety, quality and environmental outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strong HSEQ awareness across project activities.
• Coordinate and oversee construction activities per project requirements.
• Monitor programs and drive performance against milestones.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier engagement, including procurement and contracts.
• Support preparation and review of forecasts, budgets and cost reports.
• Identify and manage project risks, variations and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate preparation and review of work packs, methodologies, ITPs and documentation.
• Assist with design management and issue resolution.
• Maintain relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Coordinate meetings, planning activities and site interfaces.
• Support financial performance through cost control and commercial management.
• Drive productivity and construction outcomes across complex infrastructure works.
