Job summary

Water Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer within the Capital Project Delivery team to coordinate scope, design, construction, commissioning, and handovers for water infrastructure projects in Western Australia. You will liaise with stakeholders, act as Principal's Representative, and provide technical support across design consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

The role emphasizes site inspections, contract administration, and ensuring adherence to PM procedures and EH&S standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Considerable water-related professional engineering experience including design and/or construction of assets.
  • Sound knowledge of tendering, contract award, and administration processes.
  • Experience in investigation and analysis of project proposals; strong conceptual, analytical, and technical writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Water Corporation's infrastructure project management principles is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to delivery projects.
  • Act as Principal's Representative on two-party contracts.
  • Provide technical assistance by collaborating with design consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Regularly inspect construction sites and correct hazards.
  • Review specifications and tender documents; make recommendations for acceptance.
  • Report on project outcomes and prepare project reports to capture lessons learned.
  • Ensure activities comply with Water Corporation PM procedures, OSH, Environment and Quality Systems.

As a Project Engineer within our Capital Project Delivery team, you will support the delivery of projects by coordinating scope, design, construction, commissioning, and handovers. What you can expect with this role

Your skills and experience
  • Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering discipline
  • Considerable water-related professional engineering experience including the design of infrastructure assets and/or construction of assets
  • Sound knowledge of the tendering, contract-award, and administration process
  • Relevant experience in the investigation and analysis of project proposalsDemonstrated conceptual, analytical, and technical-writing skills
  • Knowledge of Water Corporation's infrastructure project management principles/processes is desirable
