Job summary

Vac Bora Pty Ltd in Townsville is seeking a Civil Operator/Labourer for immediate start. The role involves hydro vacuum excavation work, general earthmoving, and labouring tasks with some weekend, early evening, and away-work. You will operate vacuum trucks and assist trades, reading plans and maintaining safety on site.

Experience in trenching, drilling on excavators (5–15t), and holding MR/HR/HC licenses is highly valued. A White Card and ability to pass safety tests are essential.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of general earthmoving experience preferred.
• Operator tickets – Excavator and Skid Steer.
• MR or HR/HC Truck license.
• White Card (safety construction induction).
• Be self-motivated and switched on. Able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and physical tasks relative to job requirements.
• Operate hydro vacuum excavator trucks (80% labouring, 20% truck driving).
• Backfilling, reinstating and cleaning up work areas.
• Experience trenching and drilling on excavator (5–15 ton) is advantageous.
• Read plans, follow instructions, and assist trades as required.
• Work outside Townsville, weekends, and on-call as needed.
• Maintain safety, site organisation, and paperwork (dockets, timesheets).

CIVIL Operator / Labourer

What you will Require (Mandatory):

• A minimum of 2 years of general earthmoving experience preferred
• Operator tickets – Excavator and Skid Steer

The Role:

Due to the nature of our work, you will need to be flexible with your availability and role duties. You will need to be able to work some weekends, early evenings, outside Townsville from time to time and emergency call outs when required.

The role will include, but not limited to the following:

• Perform manual and physical tasks relative to job requirements.
• Previous experience with any of the following highly advantageous:
• - Experience trenching and drilling on excavator from 5 to 15 ton
• - Previous experience Digging around services
• Trained in the operation of Our hydro vacuum excavator trucks to conduct works. (80% labouring, 20% truck driving).
• Backfilling, reinstating and cleaning up work area
• - Experience landscaping with skid steer and excavator
• - Ability to read and interpret plans
• - Ability to follow instructions.
• - Must be willing to do labouring work and assist with Trades as required
• Site set up, use of power tools, concreting, backfill and other labouring duties.
• Assist customers where possible.
• Understanding & completion of basic paperwork & and workplace app systems (JSEA's, pre-starts, work dockets, timesheets etc.)
• Routine vehicle maintenance & cleaning
• Assist with ensuring our company services are delivered in a Safe, Efficient and Professional Manner.
• Support other team members in solving problems and completing tasks.
• At times work outside of Townsville (away work) alongside client crews
• Do on call/rostered work at night and on weekends when required.

What you need to Succeed:

• Proven experience in civil construction
• Be physically fit (job involves hard physical work).
• Be self-motivated & switched on.
• The ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
• The ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Must be able to pass medical and drug & alcohol test
