Consolidated Power Projects Australia – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a Civil Leading Hand to lead on-site earthworks and civil construction across NSW projects, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency. You’ll work closely with Supervisors and Project Teams to keep works on schedule and within budget.

The role requires proven crew leadership, earthworks experience, familiarity with survey equipment, and plant operation tickets. A Construction White Card and a current driver’s licence are essential.

CPP Civil

CPP have a dedicated in-house Civil construction department that plays a critical role in project delivery, providing scoping, estimating, management, and construction of civil works across transmission lines, renewables, and utility projects—giving us greater control over key project components.

Our capabilities include access tracks, roads, structural foundations, cable trenches, conduits, oil containment, and site infrastructure such as laydown areas and facilities. We also manage bulk earthworks, drainage, fencing, and signage, ensuring seamless integration of civil works into every project we deliver.

The Opportunity

As a Civil Leading Hand, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of our industry-leading transmission and renewable energy projects, leading onsite earthworks and civil construction activities while supporting and mentoring your crew. Working closely with Supervisors and Project Teams, you'll help drive a strong safety culture, maintain high-quality workmanship, and ensure works are delivered efficiently, on time and within budget. About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Demonstrated experience as a Civil Leading Hand, ideally within earthworks, civil construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading onsite crews while promoting a strong safety-first culture.
• Experience using civil survey equipment to support earthworks and construction activities.
• Sound understanding of bulk and detailed earthworks, site set-out and civil construction methodologies.
• Current plant operating tickets and demonstrated experience operating machinery, including excavators, graders, loaders and skid steers. Dozer experience will be highly regarded.
• Strong ability to read plans, coordinate daily works and communicate effectively with Supervisors, subcontractors and project teams.
• A proactive, hands‑on approach with a commitment to quality workmanship and delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Construction White Card and a current driver's licence.
