Job summary

Newlands is seeking Civil Labourers to join our construction teams across Toowoomba and surrounding areas. These permanent, full-time positions offer a supportive environment that values safety, quality, respect, integrity and teamwork.

You will work on diverse civil construction projects, install and connect systems, prepare formwork, concrete finishing, and support tradespeople in a collaborative setting with a strong focus on safety and career development.

Qualifications

• Proven civil labouring experience with a strong work ethic.
• White Card is essential on site.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow directions.
• Committed to safety and quality standards.
• Concreting or related labouring experience is preferred.
• Extra tickets such as roller, excavator or confined space are a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Install and connect stormwater, sewer, drainage, and water main systems.
• Prepare and set up formwork and reinforcing steel.
• Pour, level, and finish concrete to specs.
• Assist tradespeople across multiple scopes.
• Operate power tools and equipment safely.
• General labouring: site prep, maintenance, and clean-up.

Celebrating 25 years, Newlands is a family-owned business with a proven reputation for excellence in civil and commercial construction. Due to ongoing project growth, we are seeking Civil Labourers to join our construction teams across Toowoomba and surrounding areas.

These are permanent, full-time positions working across a variety of civil construction projects in a supportive environment that values safety, quality, respect, integrity and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing and connecting stormwater, sewer, drainage, and water main systems
• Preparing and setting up formwork and reinforcing steel
• Pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete to required specifications
• Assisting tradespeople across multiple work scopes
• Operating power tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• General labouring duties – site preparation, maintenance, and clean-up

About You

You’re an experienced Civil Labourer with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safe, high-quality work.

You’ll bring:

• Previous labouring, and or concreting experience
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a genuine desire to learn
• Ability to work well in a team and follow direction
• Commitment to safety and quality standards
• White Card (Construction Induction) – essential
• Extra tickets like roller, excavator, or confined space are a bonus
