Job summary

Saunders is seeking a Civil Estimator to join our Newcastle team to secure civil water and structures projects across NSW. You will prepare accurate, competitive estimates from first principles, assess scope, methodology, quantities, resources and tender risks, and support high-quality submissions within required timeframes.

You will review drawings, specifications and contracts, obtain subcontractor quotes, identify gaps and risks, and contribute to commercial reviews and compliant submissions,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Five+ years in tendering/estimating within civil water infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed first-principles estimates for civil water and structures projects.
• Develop work breakdown structures, RFQs, procurement plans and tender pricing.
• Review drawings, specs, scopes, contracts and bills of quantities.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor/supplier quotations; benchmarking and gap analysis.
• Identify scope gaps, estimating risks and contractual exposures before submission.
• Support commercial reviews, tender negotiations and compliant submissions.
• Manage multiple tenders and provide clear handovers to project delivery teams.
