Job summary

TRV Homes is seeking a Civil Engineer / Site Engineer to support planning, coordination and delivery of building projects in Adelaide. You will work with project managers, designers, consultants and subcontractors to resolve engineering issues and ensure sitework aligns with approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• At least two years of civil or site engineering experience.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings.
• Sound understanding of earthworks, foundations, concrete construction and drainage.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and site safety practices.
• Ability to use engineering drawing software and project documentation systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Current driver’s licence and Construction Induction White Card or ability to obtain before site duties.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and site information to identify construction requirements and resolve discrepancies.
• Plan construction methods and sequences considering site conditions and materials.
• Assess site levels, soil reports and drainage requirements for earthworks and foundations.
• Prepare and review engineering documentation and construction procedures.
• Coordinate site activities, subcontractors and material deliveries against the programme.
• Inspect earthworks, concrete, drainage and related works for compliance with drawings.
• Arrange inspections and material testing; review results and coordinate corrective work.
• Prepare quantity calculations and cost estimates; monitor material use and variations.
• Investigate site problems and develop practical engineering solutions with designers.
• Maintain inspection records, technical correspondence and progress reports.

• Plan suitable construction methods and work sequences, taking account of site conditions, materials, equipment and project requirements.
• Assess site levels, soil reports and drainage requirements, coordinating technical advice on earthworks, foundations and associated civil works.
• Prepare and review engineering documentation, technical submissions and construction procedures within your area of competence.
• Coordinate site activities, subcontractors and material deliveries against the construction programme.
• Inspect earthworks, reinforcement, concrete, drainage and other relevant works for compliance with approved engineering documentation.
• Arrange required inspections and material testing, review results and coordinate corrective work where necessary.
• Prepare quantity calculations and cost estimates, monitor material use and assess the technical and cost implications of proposed variations.
• Investigate site problems and develop practical engineering solutions in consultation with the relevant designers and consultants.
