Job summary

WSP is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the NSW Property and Buildings team. You will lead civil engineering projects from inception to construction, collaborating with a multidisciplinary national team to deliver outcomes for iconic projects.

Open to all levels with 3–5 years of AU/NZ experience, you will manage client relationships, apply relevant standards, and contribute to design management and site supervision. Chartered status is desirable; 12D/Civil 3D skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Civil Engineering; Chartered status desirable
• Experience on Australian/NZ civil engineering projects in consulting
• 3–5 years as Civil Engineer in Property and Building space
• Strong client relationship management and project management skills
• Knowledge of Aus/NZ standards and codes (AS/NZS 3500, NCC)
• Proficiency with 12D and Civil 3D desirable
• Knowledge of stormwater (DRAINS) and water quality (MUSIC) programs desirable

Our NSW team is working on small, medium and large projects across a range of sectors, including projects in Defence and DFAT. What you’ll do:

• Work on iconic projects

• Manage ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with clients;

• Lead and deliver current civil engineering projects from inception through to construction in support of technical and commercial standards, and within time constraints and cost budgets;

• Work in a varied, hands‑on role with a leadership angle across design management, superintendency and site surveillance

• Delegate and supervise the work of junior engineers, and;

• Partner with internal stakeholders and a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary engineering setting.

About You

• Bachelor to Masters’ level degree (Civil Engineering)

• Chartered status with Engineers Australia (desirable)

• Relevant industry experience on Australian or NZ civil engineering projects from a selection of sectors is essential, e.g. commercial, residential, industrial, land development including stormwater design and management.

• 3 - 5 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer in the Property and Building space within consulting.

• Well versed in effectively delivering multiple, concurrent projects ranging in scale and sector, e.g. commercial, residential, industrial, land development, subdivisions and infrastructure/roads;

• Strong client relationship management and project management skills;

• Sound working knowledge of relevant Aus/NZ Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3500, NCC etc.);

• Proficiency with 12D and Civil 3D highly desirable ;

• Highly developed customer-focus, leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.

• Proficiency in stormwater programme ‘DRAINS’ would be highly desirable

• Proficiency in water quality programme ‘MUSIC’ would be desirable
