Job summary

Wallbridge Gilbert Aztec (WGA) in Newcastle, NSW, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to deliver civil infrastructure projects across water, energy, resources and industrial sectors. You will mentor graduates and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams while supporting client relationships and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Civil Engineering and professional registration or near-approval (CPEng preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in an engineering environment delivering civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience in planning, design and delivery across roads, drainage, stormwater, transport or urban development.
• Ability to mentor Graduate Engineers and Designers and build client relationships.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver civil infrastructure projects across water, energy, resources, industrial and defence sectors in NSW.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers while supporting client relationships and project delivery.
• Contribute to the growth of civil capability within the Newcastle team and national network.

About our Role:

Due to ongoing growth and an expanding project portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Newcastle team. You'll deliver civil infrastructure projects across sectors including water, energy, resources, industrial and defence. As a key member of our growing team, you will combine strong technical design skills with project delivery responsibilities, while mentoring junior engineers and supporting client relationships. Backed by a collaborative national network and a diverse range of projects, this role offers the opportunity to develop your expertise, broaden your market exposure and play a pivotal role in shaping our civil capability in New South Wales.

About you:

• Qualification in Civil Engineering
• 7+ years' experience within an engineering environment
• CPEng status (or close to obtaining)
• Experience in the planning, design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects
• Experience in roads, drainage, stormwater, transport infrastructure and/or urban development
• Ability to mentor and develop Graduate Engineers and Designers, further expanding our team capabilities
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and build strong client relationships
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
