Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Queensland is hiring a Civil Drafter to support civil and infrastructure projects. You will prepare, review, and issue drawings, coordinating with designers and engineers to meet deadlines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with up to 4 years’ Civil Drafter experience.
• Experience with TMR Roads and Highways.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of ProjectWise preferred.
• Capable of thriving in a busy environment with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, manage and issue drawings for complex civil projects.
• Check drawing sets for accuracy and consistency.
• Liaise with designers and engineers to ensure timely delivery.
• Plan and manage own work and timelines; mentor junior drafters.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and adoption of digital engineering.
• Assist in development of new engineering software, tools and procedures.

What You’ll Do

Join our dynamic Queensland team as a Civil Drafter and contribute to a variety of exciting civil and infrastructure projects. You will:

• Prepare, manage, and issue drawings for complex engineering projects.
• Check drawing sets for complex engineering projects.
• Liaise with designers and project team engineers to ensure timely delivery of project outputs.
• Plan and manage own work and others to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Mentor individuals within drafting team.
• Actively participate in knowledge sharing and learning opportunities including a focus on emerging technologies and Digital Engineering.
• Assist in the development of new and existing engineering software, tools and best practice procedures.

This is a hybrid role based at our Sunshine Coast office. Full- or part-time options are available. Open to early career - intermediate level candidates.

About You

• Associate Degree of Civil Engineering qualification, or similar, with up to 4 years of experience as a Civil Drafter (technician).
• TMR Roads and Highways experience.
• Proficient operator of AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of ProjectWise is preferable.
• Works well in a busy and at times pressured environment.
• Excellent communication skills - including written and spoken.
