Job summary

Arup Brisbane is seeking a 12D Civil Designer to deliver high-quality road alignment designs and support multidisciplinary project teams. You will model in 12d, develop 3D drawings, and ensure outputs meet standards and project budgets.

The role requires a relevant tertiary qualification and strong knowledge of Austroads, TMR, and Australian Standards, with experience in BIM workflows and CAD tools to produce outputs. You will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary design environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of road alignment design and relevant standards (Austroads, etc.).
• Proven ability to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare road alignment designs and support senior designers on transport, energy, water, and site projects.
• Develop high-quality 3D models, drawings and documentation using 12d Model and related tools.
• Deliver outputs within agreed timeframes and budgets, maintaining accuracy.

The Opportunity

• Prepare road alignment designs and support senior designers across transport, energy, water, and site development projects for a variety of clients.
• Develop high-quality 3D models, technical drawings, and documentation using 12d Model and related tools.
• Deliver design outputs within agreed timeframes and project budgets, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Create and coordinate integrated design solutions using 3D models, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, and road safety guidelines.
• Maintain quality assurance standards by adhering to Arup’s Quality Management System and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Is this role right for you?

• Hold a recognised and relevant tertiary qualification and a strong knowledge of road alignment design and familiarity with industry standards such as Austroads, TMR, and Australian Standards.
• Proven experience using 12d Model, BIM workflows, and design tools (e.g. CAD, Bluebeam, ProjectWise) to produce high-quality outputs.
• Demonstrated ability to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects, including coordination, clash detection, and design integration.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
