Unitywater contracts Inspector Civil role oversees contractor-delivered water and wastewater projects across the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay region. You will monitor construction activities on site, conduct inspections, manage contractor performance and support safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery.

The role reports to the Quality Assurance Team Lead and requires field-based work, strong communication with contractors and stakeholders, and knowledge of civil construction standards and QA

Qualifications

• Qualifications in construction, civil or related discipline
• Experience overseeing contractors in field-based environments
• Knowledge of civil construction specs, standards and QA processes
• Understanding of engineering principles, documentation and construction delivery practices
• Experience delivering capital infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of water and wastewater construction techniques
• Strong written communication skills for progress reports
• Well-developed stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
• Current C Class Driver Licence (Licence)

Responsabilités

• Inspect and monitor contractor-delivered civil works across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved designs, specifications, standards and legislative requirements.
• Conduct quality inspections, audits, testing and witness key hold points throughout project delivery.
• Review drawings, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and project documentation to support quality project outcomes.
• Assess and provide input on contractor claims, variations and progress payments.
• Support defect inspections, commissioning activities and project handover processes.
• Ensure accurate as-constructed information and survey data is captured and recorded.
• Build positive relationships with contractors, consultants, stakeholders and the community.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project delivery and contractor performance.
