Job summary

Mildura Rural City Council invites applications for a Civil Construction apprentice to begin with a Certificate III Civil Construction (Plant Operations). The role includes on-the-job training and training at trade school, with a clear path to a permanent full-time position after completion of the apprenticeship.

Applicants must meet the special measure criteria and be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Civil Construction (Plant Operations) to be obtained during traineeship.
• Victorian P1 car licence held for 12 months; willing to upskill to heavy rigid truck licence.
• Genuine interest in civil works and mechanically minded.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking training both on the job and at trade school to obtain Certificate III Civil Construction (Plant Operations).
• Providing quality construction and maintenance to sealed/unsealed road network, drainage, footpaths, kerb and channel across the municipality.
