Job summary

Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for a Customer Support Officer in Sydney, NSW. The role is a 3-month contract with an immediate start and an hourly pay rate of 40–45 AUD plus super.

You will handle high volumes of inbound calls, respond to enquiries about council services, and log requests in council systems, providing accurate information and escalating complex issues as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in a customer service role within local government or politically sensitive contexts.
• Experience with TechOne, Content Manager/TRIM, Authority or Pathway is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Handle high volumes of inbound calls from residents and the general public.
• Respond to enquiries regarding council services, rates, waste collection, parking and facilities.
• Log and update customer requests, complaints and service enquiries in systems.
• Provide accurate information and resolve enquiries in a timely, professional manner.
• Escalate complex issues to relevant council departments.
