Job summary

Peabody Energy invites applications for a CHPP Operator / Maintainer at Wambo Mine. Reporting to the CHPP Production Supervisor, you will operate and maintain the coal handling plant to meet production targets and quality specs.

Working a 4 Panel Rotating Rostering pattern (12‑hour day and night shifts, 2-3-3-2), you will apply fault-finding skills, conduct inspections and support safety and continuous improvement across the CHPP and surrounding equipment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification is required.
• Proven ability in mechanical fault-finding and maintenance.
• Experience with conveyors, pumps, crushers, screens and related plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate all CHPP areas in line with production schedules.
• Monitor plant performance and optimise production and product quality.
• Operate control room systems and respond to alarms.
• Perform routine inspections and identify faults or issues.
• Carry out first-response troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance.
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections and work orders.
• Operate train loading facilities per schedules and stockpile requirements.
• Assist with planned shutdowns and maintenance activities.
• Identify and report hazards and safety concerns.
• Maintain housekeeping and comply with site procedures.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance to optimise plant performance.
