Job summary

Yancoal Australia Ltd. at Mount Thorley Warkworth in the Hunter Valley NSW is seeking an experienced CHPP Maintenance Planner to oversee maintenance planning and scheduling for the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant.

Reporting to the CHPP Maintenance Delivery Superintendent, you will plan labour, materials, and contractor work, optimise plant availability, and drive continuous improvement across outages and daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Qualified trades or diploma with mechanical or electrical focus.
• Demonstrated planning and scheduling experience in CHPP/open cut mine or heavy equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to build rapport with stakeholders.
• Proficient computer literacy with SAP and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short and long term maintenance forecasts.
• Maintain effective use of preventative maintenance strategies.
• Plan labour, materials, external services and equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Liaise with key contractors to ensure safe, timely scheduling of work.
• Coordinate with planning and execution teams to deliver work on time.
• Control costs through planning and scheduling of resources.
• Drive performance by chairing weekly maintenance meetings.
• Provide supervision during shutdowns and breakdowns.
• Identify and implement improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance and contractors to optimise plant availability.
