Job summary

Brubecks Boutique Foods is seeking an experienced, hands-on Shift Supervisor to lead our afternoon picking, packing and dispatch at the Murarrie facility near Brisbane. You will manage workloads, direct the team and ensure orders are picked, packed and dispatched on time.

This full-time role (38 hours/week) runs five days with a 3 pm start in a chilled environment (~3°C). You will monitor stock levels, maintain dispatch records and uphold food-safety standards while communicating clearly with

Brubecks Boutique Foods is a gourmet food manufacturer supplying the retail and wholesale sectors, with an exceptional reputation for quality food and customer service.

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced, hands-on Shift Supervisor to lead our afternoon picking, packing and dispatch operations at our Murarrie facility.

About the role

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of the shift, coordinating workloads, directing the team and ensuring customer orders are picked accurately, packed correctly and ready for dispatch on time.

This is an active leadership position. You will work alongside the team while maintaining clear expectations for productivity, accuracy, safety and housekeeping. We need someone who can confidently manage priorities, resolve issues and keep the shift moving with minimal direction.

Your key responsibilities

• Supervise daily picking, packing and dispatch activities, allocating tasks and monitoring progress against dispatch deadlines.
• Lead by example, providing clear direction, training and support to team members.
• Check order accuracy, carton labelling and pallet allocation before dispatch.
• Ensure packed orders are placed in the correct dispatch zones according to delivery run sheets.
• Monitor and record stock levels, oversee stock rotation and investigate discrepancies.
• Update picking slips, driver run sheets and dispatch records using computer systems.
• Identify and resolve stock shortages, picking errors and workflow issues, escalating where required.
• Maintain clean, organised cool rooms and work areas, ensuring food safety and workplace safety procedures are followed.
• Communicate clearly with management and other departments to support an efficient handover and dispatch process.

The experience you will bring

Previous experience supervising a warehouse, stores or dispatch team is essential. You will also need:

• A strong practical background in order picking, packing and dispatch, ideally involving chilled food or other perishable products.
• Proven ability to organise a team and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to getting orders right.
• Confident computer skills and experience maintaining stock or dispatch records.
• Clear communication skills and the confidence to address errors and maintain standards.
• Initiative, sound judgement and the ability to work independently, including alone at times.
• Reliability and a strong sense of ownership over the shift’s performance.

Working conditions

The role involves working in a cold-room environment of approximately 3°C, standing and walking for extended periods, and regularly lifting cartons weighing up to 15 kg.

This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week, working five days per week with a 3 pm start and possible overtime opportunities.
