Job summary

Relationships Australia NT in the Northern Territory seeks a passionate Children’s Counsellor / Group Facilitator to join the Children and Families team. You will deliver trauma-informed counselling to children and families, including those affected by Family and Domestic Violence, across onsite and outreach settings.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling with eligibility for or current membership of the relevant professional body or AHPRA registration.
• Experience counselling children and families, including complex trauma, grief, loss or behavioural difficulties.
• Strong understanding of trauma, attachment and child development.
• Excellent communication, assessment, case management and advocacy skills.
• Commitment to cultural safety, safeguarding and working respectfully with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic interventions for children and families.
• Work across onsite and outreach settings, including partnerships with community services.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups for children and support parents and carers.
