Job summary

Spinifex Recruiting is seeking qualified Childcare Educators for a local government early childhood service in Byron Bay. The role offers casual employment with an ASAP start and the potential to continue through 2027, with ongoing opportunities beyond.

Responsibilities include providing a safe, engaging environment for babies to preschoolers, and supporting daily activities across age groups within a supportive team. Availability for 3–5 days per week (ideally 4) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
• WWCC, First Aid & CPR, and National Child Safety Training are required.
• Experience across age groups from babies to preschool.
• Able to work 3–5 days per week (ideally 4).

Responsibilities

• Support safe, engaging and supportive environment for children across age groups.
• Assist in daily activities and supervision in a local government ECE service.
• Collaborate with staff to provide consistent casual coverage.

Spinifex Recruiting is currently seeking experienced and passionate Childcare Educators to join a local government early childhood education service in Byron Bay.

This is a great opportunity for qualified educators looking for consistent casual work, with the potential for the assignment to continue through to 2027 and potentially longer.

The Role

Working within an early childhood education environment, you'll help provide a safe, engaging and supportive environment for children across a range of age groups, from babies through to preschool.

Ideally, we are looking for someone available 4 days per week, however applications from educators available anywhere between 3-5 days per week are encouraged.

What we're looking for

• Minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
• Previous experience working in a childcare/early childhood education setting in Australia
• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Current National Child Safety Training
• Experience working across different age groups, from babies through to preschool
• A genuine passion for working with children
• Reliable, professional and able to work well as part of a team
• Strong communication and a positive, can-do attitude
