Job summary

Rise & Shine Kindergarten is seeking a full-time cook to prepare nutritious meals for children and ensure a clean, safe kitchen. The role requires compliance with dietary needs and food safety standards, and experience in childcare cooking is highly regarded.

You will manage stock, handle ordering, and minimise waste while contributing to a supportive, family-like team culture. A current Food Handling Certificate and Working With Children Check are required.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Cookery/Hospitality/Chef is preferred.
• Knowledge of safe hygiene practices desirable.
• Experience as a cook in a childcare centre highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for children per set menu and dietary needs.
• Maintain a safe, hygienic, and well-organised kitchen in line with food safety standards.
• Cater to dietary, allergy, and cultural needs with care and creativity.
• Manage food ordering, stock rotation, and storage to minimise waste and maximise freshness.
• This is a Full-time, Monday – Friday role, 38 hours per week.
