Life Without Barriers in Mackay is seeking a dedicated Child and Family Practitioner to deliver high-quality case management and support to children in family-based care. You will collaborate with foster carers, Child Safety and families to develop care plans, strengthen placement stability and promote positive outcomes, using trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice.

Qualifications

• A recognised degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline.
• Experience within child protection and/or out-of-home care.
• Demonstrated ability to work from a strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach.
• Experience supporting foster carers and managing complex casework.
• Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.

About the Role

As a Child and Family Practitioner, you’ll provide high-quality case management and support to children and young people living in family-based care arrangements.

Working collaboratively with foster carers, Child Safety, families and community stakeholders, you’ll develop and implement individualised care plans, strengthen placement stability and support positive outcomes for children and young people.

Based in our Mackay office, this is a permanent full-time opportunity offering meaningful work, flexibility and ongoing professional development.

About You

You’ll be passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people and confident working collaboratively with carers, families and key stakeholders.

You’ll also bring:
