Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning environments, including commercial or childcare settings.
• Must hold a valid Blue Card/Working with Children Check and complete child-safe training.
• Reliable autonomous worker with the ability to follow rosters.
• Physically capable of lifting, bending and standing for long periods.
• Good communication and a respectful demeanour.

Responsibilities

• Deep Cleaning: sweep, vacuum, mop floors in playrooms, corridors and staff areas.
• Sanitisation: clean and disinfect bathrooms, nappies change areas and high-touch surfaces.
• Waste Management: empty, clean and reline bins daily.
• Laundry: operate washing/drying of linens and return to appropriate storage.
• Kitchen & Common Areas: clean and sanitise staff rooms and food prep areas.
• Stock Control: monitor and restock essential supplies (soap, towels, toilet paper).
• Safety Compliance: ensure cleaning chemicals are stored safely away from children per SDS.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout our centre. Because you are working in an environment with young children, an eye for detail and a commitment to health and safety protocols are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deep Cleaning: Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors across playrooms, corridors, and staff areas.


• Sanitisation: Clean and thoroughly disinfect bathrooms, nappy change tables, and high-touch surfaces (door handles, light switches, and toys).


• Waste Management: Empty, clean, and reline all rubbish and recycling bins daily.


• Laundry: Load washing machine/dryer, unload and put away linens as required


• Kitchen & Common Areas: Clean and sanitise staff break rooms and food preparation areas.


• Stock Control: Monitor and restock essential supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).


• Safety Compliance: Ensure all cleaning chemicals are mixed, used, and stored safely out of reach of children in accordance with SDS (Safety Data Sheets).

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Previous experience in commercial cleaning, domestic cleaning, or school/childcare environments is highly regarded.


• Blue Card/Child Safe: Must have both a valid Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and have completed mandatory child safe training before commencing work


• Reliability: An autonomous worker who takes pride in their work and can reliably stick to a roster.


• Physical Fitness: The role involves physical work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.


• Communication: Good communication skills and a friendly, respectful demeanour
