Job summary

DXC Technology in Sydney is seeking a proven CTO – Banking with deep enterprise architecture expertise to drive large-scale transformations across Cloud, Data and AI for banking clients.

You will engage C-suite stakeholders, shape enterprise strategy, design scalable solutions, and lead pre‑sales and architecture governance to deliver measurable business value. The role also requires mentoring teams, managing risk, and ensuring governance across proposal and delivery phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6+ years of experience in Enterprise and systems architecture.
• Previous experience working in Financial Services, specifically Banking.
• Presales experience highly advantageous
• Experience in any Cloud technology preferrable, especially AWS
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with account executives and sales teams to identify technical requirements, understand customer pain points, and shape winning sales strategies.
• Provide rapid technical responses to RFPs, RFQs, and complex technical questionnaires.
• Develop compelling solution designs and proposal narratives that differentiate our offerings and address customer needs.
• Participate in pre-sales technical discussions, customer workshops, and executive presentations to validate fit and build stakeholder confidence.
• Coach and mentor sales teams on technical capabilities, cloud solutions, and architecture best practices to strengthen their positioning.
• Contribute technical expertise to sales enablement initiatives, competitive analysis, and thought leadership activities.
• Translate strategic business objectives and technical requirements into practical, scalable solution designs.
• Facilitate discovery workshops, fit-gap analysis, and solution design sessions with prospective customers.
• Provide architectural oversight, risk assessment, and design governance to ensure solution quality and feasibility.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and implementation opportunities early in the sales processLead architectural discussions across multiple stakeholders, working alongside sales consultants, system engineers, and technical architects.
• Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and CIOs, serving as a technical strategist and strategic advisor.
• Provide architectural leadership and guidance throughout the proposal and early engagement phases.
• Ensure solution designs align with customer strategic objectives and deliver measurable business value.
• Support handover to delivery teams, ensuring continuity and successful project outcomes.

We are seeking a proven technology leader with deep Enterprise Architecture expertise, a strong track record in large-scale transformation and modernization programs, experience designing cloud-based solutions, and the ability to engage and influence C-suite stakeholders as a trusted strategic advisor. The CTO (Banking) will be required to act as the technical domain Subject Matter Expert to provide high quality Solution Architecture and lead outstanding outcomes for a portfolio of DXC customers. Suitable candidates will have extensive Banking knowledge and experience.
