Racing Queensland is seeking an exceptional Chief People Officer to lead the organisation's people, culture and workforce agenda as the industry enters a pivotal period of transformation. This is a high-impact role, partnering with the CEO, Board and Executive Leadership Team to shape leadership, capability and culture across Queensland racing.
You will drive strategic alignment, organisational design, talent management and employee relations, delivering a high-performing People & Culture
Racing Queensland is the statutory body responsible for leading and supporting Queensland’s Thoroughbred, Greyhound, and Harness racing industries.
With participants and stakeholders located throughout metropolitan, regional and rural Queensland, the racing industry makes a significant contribution to the State's economy and local communities. Racing Queensland works to ensure the long-term sustainability and success of the industry while delivering exceptional racing and event experiences.
Our mission is simple: to champion great racing and events that connect Queensland communities.
RQ is now seeking an exceptional Chief People Officer to lead the organisation's people, culture and workforce agenda at an important time in the evolution of Queensland racing.
This is an opportunity to operate at the highest level of the organisation, partnering with the CEO, Board and Executive Leadership Team to shape the culture, capability, leadership and workforce required to deliver RQ's strategic ambitions.
For an experienced People & Culture executive, this is an opportunity to make a genuine enterprise-wide impact — both within RQ and across the broader Queensland racing industry.
RQ's strategic direction places a clear focus on building a culture of high performance and progressing workforce transformation to support the future of the industry.
Success in this role will mean People & Performance is recognised as a strategic driver of RQ's performance, rather than simply a support function.
RQ already has a strong platform to build from, including a two-year People Strategy approved in 2025, a focus on employee engagement, leadership development, learning and development, wellbeing and diversity.
We offer a range of benefits designed to support our people both professionally and personally, including:
RQ values inclusivity and promotes a workplace that actively seeks to welcome contributions from all people.
We recognise, respect and value First Nations people and cultures. We are focused on working with First Nations people to improve service design and delivery, knowing that this will deliver better outcomes for all of Queensland. Please check our First Nations Resources hub for further information.
We encourage people of all abilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, diverse cultures and backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ identities, and all age groups and genders to apply.
Applications will close Thursday, 29 October at 5pm.
