Job description

Lead the people strategy behind extraordinary outcomes.

Join Kudos as our Chief People Officer and help create the workforce, culture and leadership capability required to deliver our bold vision for children, families and communities.

Kudos is a leading not-for-profit employee-controlled mutual supporting children, young people and families across South Australia. Guided by our values of Knowledge, Camaraderie, Enterprising Spirit and Heart, we are committed to building a culture where people flourish, innovation is encouraged, and meaningful outcomes are created for children, young people and families.

As we look to the future, Kudos is focused on delivering our strategic ambitions through a highly engaged workforce, strong leadership, sustainable growth and a culture that empowers people. To support this next phase of organisational maturity, we are seeking an exceptional Chief People Officer to join our Executive Leadership Team.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief People Officer will provide strategic leadership across workforce planning, leadership development, employee engagement, organisational capability, culture, wellbeing and employment governance.

This is a genuine executive leadership role with influence extending beyond the traditional People & Culture function. Working alongside the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Development Officer, the CPO will ensure workforce strategy is aligned with operational priorities, organisational growth and future service delivery requirements.

As a trusted adviser to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board, the CPO will contribute to organisational strategy, performance, workforce sustainability, leadership excellence and organisational effectiveness. The role will combine strategic thinking with practical execution, ensuring that people, systems and culture remain aligned with both current priorities and future opportunities.

Our CPO needs to bring:
  • Significant senior or executive leadership experience across People & Culture, workforce strategy, organisational development or organisational capability
  • Demonstrated contribution to enterprise strategy, organisational performance and sustainable growth
  • An appreciation of the unique value proposition held by an employee-led mutual, and enthusiasm for continued development of this model.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing workforce strategies aligned with organisational priorities and future capability requirements
  • Strong capability across leadership development, organisational effectiveness, employee engagement, industrial relations and workforce sustainability
  • Experience leading organisational change, transformation and culture initiatives within a complex service environment
  • The credibility and influence to advise and work effectively with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Board and senior leaders
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach, sound judgement and the ability to balance strategic priorities with operational realities
  • A genuine care for people and desire to work with a focus on building positive social impact.
  • Experience within disability, community services, health or another complex human services environment will be highly regarded.

This is an opportunity to join an organisation with a strong social purpose and a genuinely distinctive employee-controlled mutual model. If you are an experienced people executive and looking for a role that requires high emotional intelligence, commercial pragmatism, and a strong vision for organisational transformation; Kudos Services would like to hear from you.
