Job summary

Tullawon Health Service Inc. is seeking a Chief Operations Officer to lead the day-to-day operations, translate strategic direction into delivery, and ensure performance across funding, quality and compliance in a remote Aboriginal community.

You will guide Executive Managers, manage budgets, and drive operational priorities while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and reporting to the CEO.

Qualifications

• Experience in budgeting, funding agreements and financial oversight.
• Strong understanding of governance, compliance, risk and quality improvement.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve operational issues.
• Ability to work effectively and respectfully in a remote Aboriginal community.

Job description

Total potential earnings: $137,000 – $144,000 (Salary + Allowances + Remote Travel Allowance) plus many additional benefits including:

• Program Leave: For each 6-weeks of continuous service cycle, entitled to 1 weeks paid leave (in addition to other leave entitlements
• Accommodation: You will be provided with fully furnished staff accommodation, and we subsidise the utility fees, resulting in a comfortable and cost-effective living arrangement (a nominal $30 per bedroom per fortnight)
• Work Vehicle: You will be allocated with a work vehicle to efficiently perform your duties as well as full personal use (conditions apply)
• Save on tax with Salary Sacrificing: The option to Salary sacrifice of up to approximately $16,000 per year
• Christmas Closure Leave: Enjoy extended paid leave over each Christmas and New Year period

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Chief Operations Officer (COO), responsible for the day-to-day operations of Tullawon Health Service. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the COO is second in command and responsible for translating strategic direction into effective operational delivery.

The COO provides leadership and oversight across organisational operations, workforce performance, funding and contractual obligations, financial management, quality, risk and compliance. The role supports Executive Managers to effectively manage their teams, programs and resources while ensuring organisational priorities, service outcomes and reporting requirements are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day to day operations of Tullawon Health Service.
• Support and oversee Executive Managers and organisational performance.
• Drive implementation of strategic and operational priorities.
• Oversee funding agreements, contracts, KPIs and reporting requirements.
• Monitor budgets, expenditure and financial performance.
• Lead quality, compliance, accreditation, risk and WHS requirements.

• Must be over 18 years of age
• Must pass a National Police Record Check throughout the period of employment
• Must pass and hold a Working with Children Check throughout the period of employment
• Must hold a current Drivers Licence (manual)
• Must pass safety screening checks as required based on the position and / or as requested by the funding body
• Must hold valid Australian working rights (citizenship, residency, or current working visa)
• All positions are subject to funding
• Ability to undertake commercial travel with overnight stays
• All positions are subject to an initial six (6) months probationary period
• Other terms and conditions are in line with the relevant industrial instrument and internal policies
