Job summary

Above The Clouds Store Pty Ltd is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to oversee warehouse, fulfilment, logistics, inventory management and studio workflow across Sydney, with regular travel to Melbourne. The role reports to the founders and drives structure and scalability for rapid growth.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in operations leadership, a hands-on, data-driven approach and strong stakeholder management. This is a full-time role with a focus on building scalable processes and systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant operations experience
• Proven track record in scaling operations (retail/ecommerce/logistics)
• Strong ability to build and improve processes

Responsibilities

• Lead warehouse, fulfilment, shipping and logistics functions
• Oversee inventory planning and visibility across DCs and stores
• Drive operational excellence across customer service, retail and studio operations
• Develop systems, processes and reporting to improve efficiency
• Establish KPI-based operational rhythm and accountability
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost-to-serve while maintaining service levels
• Support strategic growth initiatives with founders and senior leadership
• Collaborate with leadership to execute business objectives

What You’ll Do

• Lead warehouse, fulfilment, shipping and logistics functions
• Oversee inventory planning, stock allocation and visibility across distribution centres and retail locations
• Drive operational excellence across customer service, retail and studio operations
• Develop systems, processes and reporting frameworks to improve efficiency and scalability
• Establish a consistent operational performance rhythm through KPI monitoring
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost-to-serve while improving service levels
• Support strategic growth initiatives as the business continues to expand
• Collaborate with founders and senior leadership to execute business objectives

Qualification & experience

What We’re Looking For

• Relevant tertiary qualification and/or at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Proven experience leading operations at scale, ideally in retail, ecommerce or logistics
• A track record of building and improving processes, not just maintaining them
• Strong experience with inventory, fulfilment and supply chain management
• A hands‑on, data‑driven approach to problem solving
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills
