Job summary

RSGx is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join the leadership team in Sydney. The role partners with senior leaders to drive growth, enhance financial performance, and support strategic decisions. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, leadership capability and the ability to operate in a dynamic environment.

You will lead finance functions, manage cash flow, reporting and audits while shaping financial strategy for renewables projects and new growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • CPA/CA with senior finance leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Strong governance, tax, treasury and compliance knowledge.
  • Proven ability to present to Boards and executives.
  • Experience leading finance functions in medium to large organisations.
  • Ability to translate financial data into strategy and decisions.
  • MBA/postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership to the executive leadership team.

  • Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.

The Opportunity
We are an integrated services provider working across various renewable infrastructure streams and with new growth opportunities seeking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team.
This is a key leadership position and will partner closely with the senior leadership team to drive business growth, improve financial performance, and support strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, exceptional leadership capability, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and evolving business environment.
Key Responsibilities
As CFO, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic financial leadership and advice to the executive leadership team
  • Developing and implementing financial strategies that support organisational growth and long-term objectives.
  • Managing cash flow, working capital, treasury, and capital management initiatives.
  • Delivering accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

About You
You are an accomplished finance leader with a proven track record of delivering commercial outcomes, financial discipline, and strategic leadership.
You possess the ability to balance hands-on operational requirements with broader strategic objectives and are capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
Selection Criteria
  • CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Significant senior finance leadership experience, including previous CFO, Finance Director, or General Manager Finance roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading finance functions within medium to large organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, management accounting, taxation, treasury, governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience preparing and presenting financial reports to Boards, Executive Teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into strategic business decisions.
Highly Regarded
  • MBA or postgraduate qualifications in finance, business, or leadership.
  • Experience within mining, resources, energy, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
  • Experience supporting private equity, publicly listed, or high-growth organisations.
  • Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, business integrations, or corporate restructuring activities.
  • Experience implementing ERP systems and digital finance transformation projects.
