Job summary

Metro Community Housing is seeking a commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to partner with the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team. You will lead financial strategy, governance and risk management while balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution to support growth and sustainability.

Reporting to the CEO, you will guide reporting, budgeting and financial planning, ensuring resources align with the organisation's long-term purpose and community impact.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified with significant senior finance leadership experience.
• Experience partnering with executive teams and Boards.
• Strong financial stewardship, governance and risk management capability.
• Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on when required.

As the organisation continues to evolve, Metro Housing is seeking a socially focused Chief Financial Officer to partner with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team in shaping the next chapter of growth, sustainability and impact.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and a trusted adviser to the CEO and Board.

This is a broad and influential leadership role for an executive who enjoys contributing beyond the finance function. You will bring commercial insight, strategic perspective and sound judgement to organisational decision-making while ensuring strong financial stewardship, governance and risk management.

Leading a small team, you will balance strategic leadership with hands‑on execution, shaping long‑term priorities while remaining close enough to the detail to drive outcomes and support day‑to‑day operations.

As Metro Housing continues to evolve, the CFO will play an important role in supporting organisational growth, continuing financial sustainability, enhancing reporting and decision‑making capability, and helping the organisation navigate future opportunities with confidence.

Working closely with the CEO, Board and executive team, you will influence strategy, challenge thinking, provide clarity around complex decisions and ensure resources are aligned to the organisation's long‑term priorities and purpose.
