Job summary

Novotel Surfers Paradise is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering Department, safeguard hotel assets, and drive safety, efficiency and guest experience. You will manage a dedicated team, coordinate contractors and ensure programs meet WH&S and statutory requirements.

You will play a strategic role in sustainability initiatives and capital works, reporting to the General Manager and contributing to Accor’s standards of service.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Engineering Department.

• Oversee maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, plumbing, BMS, kitchen and laundry equipment, guest rooms, pools, lifts.
• Manage maintenance budgets, utilities and capex projects.

• Sound understanding of Australian WH&S legislation and compliance requirements.

• Experience managing maintenance budgets and capital projects.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
