Job summary

Evolve Scientific in Australia is seeking a Chemist for a full-time ongoing role within a leading Waste Management company. This position is primarily warehouse/yard-based with hands-on tasks and PPE requirements.

You will organise and unpack chemical waste, sort chemicals, decant and dispose of waste, and package for destruction. Training provided, with strong potential to go permanent.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Science or Engineering.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling.
• Previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25kg.
• Can-do attitude and enthusiasm.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

They are currently seeking a Chemist to join their team in a full-time ongoing role, with strong potential to become permanent!
Unique opportunity for individuals with a Science background to gain valuable, hands‑on experience in an Industrial Chemistry Setting.

Duties:

• Organise and unpack chemical waste
• Sort chemicals into their classes
• Decant and dispose chemical waste
• Package chemical waste for destruction

• Test chemicals to determine their composition and flammability

Key Considerations:

• Primarily a warehouse/yard-based role (not a lab environment)
• Majority of work is hands‑on/manual
• Manual handling required (lifting up to 25kg drums)
• Exposure to a wide range of chemicals (from basic to more complex materials

Skills & Experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in Science or Engineering
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling
• Previous warehouse experience - highly regarded
• Ability to lift up to 25kg
• Can-do attitude, enthusiastic to work
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
