Job summary

Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort in Maroochydore, QLD seeks an experienced Chef de Partie to own a busy buffet kitchen on a remote reef island. You’ll prepare high-quality buffet dishes across breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts, and lead the setup and replenishment of buffet stations.

You’ll uphold strict food safety standards and contribute to daily operations while enjoying creative freedom to elevate menu presentation. The role includes unique island-life perks and arrangements.

Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort – Maroochydore QLD

Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort is looking for an experienced, confident Chef de Partie to take ownership of a busy buffet kitchen on one of the most remote and beautiful islands on the Great Barrier Reef. Lady Elliot Island is located approximately 80 kms off the coast of Bundaberg and is only accessible via light plane.

The Role

You’ll run your service with pride, delivering standout buffet service and ability to work across breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts. You’ll be trusted to:

• Cook and present high-quality dishes for buffet service, with consistency and flair
• Lead the setup and replenishment of your buffet stations
• Uphold strict food safety, hygiene and allergen standards
• Supporting daily operations and setting the standard for others
• Bring fresh ideas to menu offerings and presentation, with real creative freedom

You’re the Chef We Want If You Have

• Proven experience in a busy kitchen, ideally with bulk cooking or buffet service
• A sharp eye for detail in both preparation and presentation
• The confidence to work independently and the heart of a team player
• Flexibility across all service times
• A reliable, positive attitude (island life is better with good vibes)
• A Food Handlers Certificate and Food Allergen course (or a willingness to complete them)
• Availability for a start in the new few weeks and a commitment through Christmas and New Year at minimum
