Job summary

Busy Bees is seeking a passionate and organised Chef to join Busy Bees at Carlisle on a part-time basis, approx 35 hours per week. You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals for children aged 0–5 years in a supportive, safety-driven environment.

You will work with a Centre Leadership Team, manage ordering and budgeting, adhere to Australian Dietary Guidelines, and help children learn about nutrition. The role offers daytime hours, uniform allowances and opportunities for growth within Busy Bees.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook (childcare experience highly regarded).
• Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen hygiene practices.
• Current Working with Children Check for WA or willingness to obtain.
• Strong organisation and time management skills.
• Commitment to child safety and Busy Bees values.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals in line with Australian Dietary Guidelines.
• Cater for allergies, intolerances, and cultural dietary requirements.
• Manage food ordering, budgeting, and stock control.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment in accordance with Food Safety Standards.
• Work collaboratively with the Centre Leadership Team.
• Contribute to children’s learning around nutrition and healthy eating.

We’re seeking a passionate and organised Chef to join our team at Busy Bees at Carlisle on a part-time basis working approximately 35 hours per week. You will play a key role preparing fresh, nutritious meals that support the health, wellbeing, and development of children aged 0–5 years.

What you’ll do

• Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals in line with Australian Dietary Guidelines
• Cater for allergies, intolerances, and cultural dietary requirements
• Manage food ordering, budgeting, and stock control

What you’ll bring

• A genuine commitment to child safety, speaking up, always doing the right thing, and alignment with Busy Bees values
