Job summary

MRAEL, on behalf of Cibaria Manly, invites applications for an Apprentice Chef position at the beachfront restaurant in Manly, NSW. You will learn under qualified chefs in a busy commercial kitchen while earning a full-time wage and gaining a nationally recognised Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

You will receive a full uniform and tool kit, tailored training, and mentoring with regular check-ins. This is an excellent start to your culinary career with opportunities to gain experience

Cibaria is an Italian restaurant located on the beachfront in Manly, embracing a European style of dining where good food, wine and company take centre.

What’s involved:

As an Apprentice Chef, you will learn alongside qualified Chefs in all aspects of food preparation and presentation. Working with us allows you to learn and build experiences from skilled professionals within a commercial kitchen environment. You will be working at one of our great host venues, working with large quantities of food and a variety of seasonal ingredients. Key activities you can expect will be:

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of dishes.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, choppers, fryers, steamers under supervision.
• Learn different knife and cooking techniques.
• Clean, maintain and store kitchen equipment appropriately.

To suit this role, you will be an eager and motivated individual with a passion for food looking to kick-start your culinary career! You will have good communication skills, seek out opportunities to learn and show initiative in your everyday duties.

In order to be eligible for an apprenticeship in NSW you must be either an:

• Australian Citizenship
• Australian Permanent Residency
• New Zealand Passport Holder residing in Australia for more than six months.
